The event: Hong Kong Toys & Games 2007 will be the 33 rd edition in the series. Firmly established as the Asia’s largest event and second largest in the world, where in 2006 edition nearly 30,000 visitors came from 131 countries and regions to source their latest products. The 2006 fair also attracted 1,935 exhibitors from 37 countries like Czech republic, New Zealand, Srilanka, UAE. There were group pavilions from the Chinese mainland, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, Taiwan & Thailand.

Market Opportunity: Toy industry expect a 10% growth in business this year, according to findings of an industry survey release by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Although traditional toys have become less popular, the demand for video games, intellectual and electronic toys are growing in Europe and US. Hence, Hong Kong’s Toys exports increased by 4% to around US D 9.5 billion in the first 11 months in2006 with major markets including Japan, Germany and Italy.
